Prep roundup and Tuesday's schedule

Fastpitch softball

PORTER 8, HULBERT 1 – Porter’s Tanisha Carmichael moved to 10-13 on the season as she struck out eight and gave up only two hits while going 2-for-4 from the plate with an RBI. Baileigh Wheeler was 2-for-3 with an RBI as the Lady Pirates moved to 11-15 on the season.

Paige Taylor managed the only two hits while Ashlyn Riley drove in the only run for the Lady Riders (5-9)

TAHLEQUAH 3, COWETA 0 – Bub Peters drove in Lainey Wallace with a double in the second inning for the only run the Lady Tigers would need for the win over Coweta. Tahlequah scored twice more in the second with Peters and Caitlin Chuculate crossing the plate. Marissa Girdner, Wallace and Peters were all 1-for-3. Lindsay Wade got the win for the Lady Tigers.

CHECOTAH 6, EUFAULA 5 – The Class 4A No. 10 Lady Wildcats needed four runs in the bottom of the seventh to come back and beat the Lady Ironheads of Eufaula. Taylor Davidson went 4-for-4 with two RBIs for Checotah while Kiah Hill and Kelsey Casey were both 2-for-4 with Casey driving in the game-winning run.

Rachel Singleton took the loss for Eufaula going seven innings and giving up just one earned run. Annalee Eslick went 2-for-3 and Singleton was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

OKTAHA SPLITS IN THREEWAY – The 3A No. 4 Lady Tigers beat Rattan 8-1 with Caitlin Sikes getting the win and Taylor Pevehouse earning the save. In its second game, Oktaha fell to Class b No. 1 Red Oak in five innings 5-1 with Kelsey Cantwell absorbing the loss. The Lady Tigers fell to 17-5 on the season.

ROLAND 8, GORE 1 – The Lady Pirates fell to 3-14 on the season as Stormie Gates struck out nine and gave up just three earned runs. Gates also went 3-for-4 on the night as Melanie Dean and Jade Cearley both went 2-for-4.

CENTRAL SALLISAW THREEWAY – The Lady Eagles of Warner got the win over Central Sallisaw 13-4 making their record 15-6 on the season. Cheyenne Miller got the win going four innings giving up just four hits and no earned runs. Miller’s record improved to 8-3 on the year. Triston Potts, Chelsea Anderson and Raven Girty all went 2-for-4 in the game. Warner also beat Vian 14-7. Tatum Elders got the win for the Lady Eagles moving her a record of 7-3. Elders gave up two earned runs on eight hits. Payton Jackson went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Jaden Bolin took the loss for the Lady Wolverines. Addison Elbon went 3-for-4 and Jordan Sovo went 2-for-3. In Vian’s second game, it lost to Sallisaw Central 9-7 with its record dropping to 7-15, Bolin (6-11) also suffered in that game. Alyson Hohrman went 4-for-4 with a triple and Elbon went 3-for-5.

SEQUOYAH 9, WESTVILLE 0 – The 3A No. 1 Lady Indians moved to 20-5 on the season behind the arm of Kati Phillips who holds the same record. Phillips went five innings striking out six and gave up just three hits. Kelsey Leach, Syndi Smith, Symphani Shomo and Megan Towie all went 2-for-3. Leach had an RBI and a home run while Smith had three RBIs and a home run.
