Connors State’s Ronnie Boyce, a 6-foot-4 freshman guard from Oklahoma City, has been named the National Junior College Player of the Week for Jan. 6-12, it was announced Wednesday in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Boyce led the Cowboys to an 87-72 Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Northeastern A&M on Jan. 9, on the Golden Norsemen’s home floor, scoring 31 points, pulling down 9 rebounds with one assist.
Boyce’s 31 point production was a career-high at Connors.
Boyce said he was “feeling good” entering the Northeastern A&M game. “When we started playing I hit my first couple of shots and I knew it was going to be a good night.I just got into a zone.”
Boyce is the second Connors player to be named the NJCAA National Player of the Week. Sophomore forward Willie Atwood from Memphis, Tenn., was selected in November.
