Stephen F. Austin 72, ORU 69

TULSA — Nikola Gajic’s putback with 33 seconds remaining gave the Lumberjacks (17-2, 6-0) a 68-67 lead and Stephen F. Austin, winning its 14th straight contest,  hit 4 of 6 free throws in the final 10 seconds to edge Oral Roberts (10-9, 4-2).

Shawn Glover led all players with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Korey Billbury added 17 points for the Golden Eagles, as the duo combined to shoot 57 percent (15--of-26) from the field. As a team, ORU shot 48.9 percent from the field but hit just 33 percent (4-of12) from the 3-point line.

SFA got 59 of their 72 points from four players, led by Jacob Parker’s 19. Desmond Haymon added 15, Deshaunt Walker chipped in 13 off the bench and Nikola Gajic posted 12 points. The Lumberjacks hit eight triples and shot 44 percent (24-of-54) from the field.

Tulsa 58, Middle Tenn. 53

James Woodard scored 16 polints and Lew Evans 12 points while grabbing 11 rebounds for a double-double in TU’s win at home. The Hurricane are 9-10 and 4-1 in Conference USA while Middle Tennessee fell to 12-7 and 2-2.

Tulsa led 34-26 at the half and over came a 5-of-20 second half from the field after shooting 13-of-25 in the first half.


ORU 64, Stephen F. Austin 65

TULSA — Christian Key led ORU with 24 points, hitting the 20-point mark for the third straight game, as ORU snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 4-12 (3-3 SLC).

On the defensive end, fellow senior Sarah Shelton grabbed eight rebounds and blocked five shots, including three monumental swats down the stretch. Muskogee ex Alexus Wilson had six points for ORU. SFA is 10-8 and 4-2.
