CHECOTAH 14, VICTORY CHRISTIAN 1 – Andrew Sands improved to 5-0 on the mound and was 3-for-4 with four runs batted in and two runs scored to lead the Wildcats on Saturday. Wyatt Hatridge was 3-for-3 with four runs scored and one RBI for Checotah (16-6) while Caleb Knight was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored. Checotah hosts Kellyville at 5 p.m. Monday.
WAGONER 23, JAY 1 – The Bulldogs exploded for 20 runs in the first two innings in run-ruling Jay on Saturday. Brett Butler led the way for Wagoner (12-6) going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs while Roman Rodriguez was 2-for-2 with five RBIs and three runs scored. Tyler Milligan got the win.
GLADYS WINTERS TOURNAMENT – The Muskogee Roughers split their two games on Saturday in the Gladys Winters Tournament, falling to Yukon 11-3 before beating Mustang 13-1. Harris Jones (4-2) got the win over Mustang while Bryson Bell (0-1) took the loss against Yukon.
Jones was 4-for-6 with three RBIs in the two games for the Roughers (16-8) while Dakota Morse was 3-for-4 with four RBIs against Mustang. Against Mustang, Ke’Shawn Ballard was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Austin jones was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, Andrew Horn was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Bell was 1-for-1 with three runs scored. The Roughers host Jenks at 7 p.m. Monday
COAL MINING CLASSIC – Class 3A No. 6 Eufaula fell to Poteau 13-0 in the championship game of the Coal Mining Classic in Hartshorne on Saturday. Ronnie Hallum (1-1) absorbed the loss for the Ironheads, who host Morris at 4 p.m. Monday
Stigler (11-8) won the consolation title with a 7-4 victory over Oktaha. Austan Drewry was 2-for-4 with his fourth home run of the year and improved his pitching record to 4-3 with the win. Seth Sandlin was 1-for-2 with a triple and one RBI. Dalton Martin took the loss for Oktaha (12-7). Stigler next plays at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Heavener.
RIVERSIDE CONFERENCE – The Porum Panthers beat the Webbers Falls Warriors 12-2 to win the tournament. No stats were available at press time.
The Braggs Wildcats finished third in the tournament, falling to the Warriors 8-5. Payton York took the loss and saw his record drop to 6-2. Rowdy Ensminger, Austin Kizzia and Landon Lucas were each 2-for-4 with Kizzia and Lucas each scoring a run. Braggs (8-8) hosts Calvin at 4 p.m. Monday.
CENTRAL SALLISAW TOURNAMENT – The Vian Wolverines dropped an 11-10 decision to Spiro in Saturday’s championship game of the Central Sallisaw Tournament. Rylee Simon led Class 3A No. 5 Vian (15-4) going 2-for-5 with his first home run of the year and three RBIs. Jon Andrews (5-2) took the loss. Vian is at Central on Monday.
