Easter weekend slate an active one

Looking ahead to an Easter weekend of activities:

There will be a practice team sorting at the Three Rivers Cowboy Church in Muskogee on at 2p.m. Saturday. Five runs for $20. Contact Tom Gragg at (918) 577-5190.

The Canchasin’ Association will have their second of an eight-week barrel racing award series at the Lightning B Arena in Beggs Friday night. Weather permitting it will be outdoors, $5 additional building fee in the open if  indoors. Exhibitions at 5:30 p.m., race at 8 p.m. PeeWees (6-and-under) straight jackpot, $10 entry fee. Open 4D, 1/2 second splits, 80 percent payback, $25 entry fee. Limited Open 4D, full second splits, $15 entry fee (80 percent payback). No nomination fees! Oklahoma Buckskin Horse Association will have a show Saturday at Claremore. ABRA (Buckskin), PHBA (Palomino), and All Breed classes, a class for everyone! Whispering Willow 2014 Open Horse Show Series will have a show Saturday at the Whispering Willow Stables in Mounds. Show starts at 8 a.m. Open Horse show, open to all breeds and skill levels. Hamilton’s Sports Arena in Vian continues their Friday night eight-week buckle and trophy spurs series in their outdoor arena. Exhibitions start at 6:30 p.m., Juniors at 8:30 p.m. with Open to follow. Must attend 6 of 8 to qualify for the awards, nomination fee is $15. Junior (15-and-under) entry fees are $15, Open is $25. Four-Way Arena in Pryor continues their Monday night barrel races. Exhibitions at 6:30 p.m., race at 8 p.m. Open entry fee is $30, 4D (1/2, 1/2, whole second splits). Progressive payouts. Coweta Round Up Club continues their Thursday night six-week Watch the Money Grow 5D barrel series with their second race tonight. Exhibitions at 6:30 p.m., race at 8 p.m. Pee Wee entry fee is $15, Youth $20 and Open $30. $5 will be held from each Open run for the added money final race on May 15, must attend 4 of 6 races to be eligible for the added money race.
