Thursday's roundup


HASKELL 2, HENRYETTA 0 –The Haymakers didn’t need much offense thanks to Ryan Lechner going the distance in the shut-out. Lechner (4-1) allowed four hits and sat four batters down on strikes. Dillon Dobbins went 2-for-2 and Matt Drake knocked in both runs on a sacrifice and fielder’s choice. Haskell (10-8) goes to Morris at 4 p.m. on Monday.

GORE 9, BRAGGS 3 – The game was all tied up heading in to the bottom of the sixth when Gore went to work scoring six runs to go up 9-3. Wade Shanks came in the seventh and ended the game on seven pitches. Shanks was also 2-for-4 from the plate with one run and two stolen bases. Chris Jarvis went 2-for-3 with a run for the Pirates (7-11).

OKTAHA 9, WARNER 5 – The Tigers and their ace pitcher were rolling. Dakota Davis (7-2) went the distance and struck out 17 of the 21 total outs with a blazing fastball. Dalton Martin went 3-for-4 going deep on a 3-run bomb and driving in five runs. Oktaha (13-7) host Sequoyah at 4 p.m. Monday.

OKAY 3, HULBERT 0 — Zac Cagle (4-1) allowed two hits, two walks and struck out nine over seven innings for the Mustangs (9-6). Cagle, Jackie Williams and Darius Riggs were all 1-for-3 and each drove in a run.

INOLA 3, TAHLEQUAH 2 – No stats available.

KEYS 12, INOLA 3 – No stats available.

STILWELL TOURNAMENT — The Stigler Panthers fell to Kansas 9-2. Seth Sandlin (2-2) picked up the loss going five innings and allowing five earned runs on five hits. Sandlin was 2-for-4 from the plate. Game two saw Stigler (13-9) defeat Roland 9-5 after a three-run double by Austin Drewry in the third to tie the game at 5-up. Trace Maxwell (1-1) picked up the win in relief throwing three scoreless innings allowing just one hit and sitting down two.

Eufaula (18-3) beat Sequoyah 6-4. The Ironheads’ Colin Walch (4-1) threw a complete game allowing just five hits and striking out five. Casey Pryor was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.  

In other games, Kansas beat Vian 5-4 and Stilwell beat Sequoyah 11-1. Pool play continues today.
