CLASS A

OKAY DISTRICT CHAMPS – Playing in front of the home crowd at Okay, the Mustangs advanced to regionals, winning the district title with a 14-0 victory over Watts. Jake Cowden (2-1) picked up the victory going two innings and batting 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Zac Cagle hit a two-run blast and finished up 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Coleman Harris was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Okay is now 15-6 and is awaiting its regional assignment.

CLASS B

BRAGGS FINISHED – At Oaks, the Wildcats’ season ended after a crazy come-from-behind win that forced  the “if necessary” game.

Braggs was down 12-2 going in to the bottom of the fifth facing a run-rule when bats started popping and the Wildcats brought home eight runs to make it 12-10. Jayden Hubler went 4-for-5 with a run and an RBI, and Landon Lucas was 3-for-6 with a pair of RBIs. Austin Kizzia was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and pitched a complete game with Braggs pulling out the victory 15-14 over Oaks.

In game two, Landon Lucas (0-1) was on the mound for the Wildcats going four innings in a 16-9 loss to Oaks. Payton York was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs. Braggs ends its season at 11-12.

PORUM OUT — At Gore, the Porum Panthers’ season came to an end with a pair of nail biting losses at the hands of Keota.

Kasey Gritts (4-2) pitched five innings allowing six hits and striking out five for the Panthers. Porum led 2-1 going in to the fourth when Gritts gave up a game-tying homer. Keota then had a two-out top of the fifth rally and took the lead, winning 4-3.

Tristen Mann (5-4) took the mound in game two and went six innings, allowing seven hits and whiffing six Keota batters. Tied 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Keota got another huge home run and went on to win 3-1.

Porum finishes up its season at 17-7, in which five of its seven losses were by a single run.

OKMULGEE TOURNAMENT – Checotah’s bats came to life in the top of the seventh, scoring seven runs to beat Glenpool 10-5. Wyatt Hatridge helped himself out with a two-run single to the game at 5-5. Andrew Sands followed a few batters later with a bases-loaded double scoring all three Wildcats and giving Checotah the lead at 8-5. Hatridge (4-4) went the distance on the mound allowing just three earned runs.

Checotah (22-6) gets the Okemah and Okmulgee winner at 4 p.m. today

VIAN 10, HASKELL 0 – The game was scoreless until the fourth when the Wolverines put a 10-spot on the board to force a run-rule. No other stats available.

STIGLER 9, MULDROW 1 — At Muldrow, Seth Sandlin homered in a 3-for-4 day, Austan Drewry went 3-for-4 and Wade Henderson had a 2-for-4 showing as the Panthers (16-11) won on the road.  Cameron Highfill gave up five hits and struck out six.
