Prep basketball roundup, schedule

The Indians (13-6), No. 9 in 3A, won on the road with balanced scoring and no trips to the line. A total of 14 fouls were called and Sequoyah didn’t shoot a single free throw.

The Indians also had seven 3-pointers — four off their season-high — but none with more than one. Up at halftime 37-26, they put the game away with a 20-9 run in the third and a pressure defense.

CANADIAN 46, WARNER 36 — Playing at Canadian, Warner (11-9) led 12-11 after one quarter before being outscored 15-7 to trail 26-19 at the half, got within three going into the fourth but couldn’t overcome Canadian’s balanced scoring.

Grey Denton had 12 points and Tim Smithson had 10 points for the Eagles (11-9). Canadian (14-5) had no player in double figures but three with eight.

GORE 56, WEBBERS FALLS 31 — The Pirates (9-9) rode a 24-6 first quarter to a 35-10 halftime lead in beating the Warriors (10-12) at Webbers Falls gym. Derrick Jestice had 13 point and Jake Johnson added 11.

Hunter Bray and Michael Milligan had seven points each for the Warriors.

— At Anadarko, Sequoyah got a cushion after opening up a 36-30 halftime edge with a 17-8 third quarter. Loren Young had 8 of her 16 points in that frame and Audrey Ballou led the Lady Indians (13-6) with 19 points.

Sequoyah, which led 20-11 after one quarter, got a scare when Kelsey Leach suffered a head injury from a charge. She received treatment and was diagnosed with a mild concussion

WARNER 42, CANADIAN 37 — At Canadian, the Lady Eagles (7-12) snapped a four-game losing streak with three girls in double figures. Raven Girty had 12 points and freshmen Kaylee Mathews  and Brook Moses had 11 and 10 points each. All three had a free throw each in the final two minutes to seal the win after trailing by one going into the fourth quarter. Warner led 21-19 at the half.

WEBBERS FALLS 51, GORE 29 — Bailey Toney led a trio of double figure scorers with 21 points as the Lady Warriors improved to 10-11 with the home win. Brooke Chappell had 11 and Cheyenne McGuire added 10 as Gore led 30-8 at halftime. Peyton Thomas led the Lady Pirates with 13 points.
