Three Rivers splits twinbill

Three Rivers split a  road doubleheader at Bartlesville in American Legion action on Wednesday, dropping the opener 9-7 then winning the nightcap 9-1 in five innings.

The Bandits’ Grant Sonntag gave up three runs in the bottom of the sixth in relief of Preston Whitten. Caleb Knight doubled in a pair of run sin a six-run fourth inning and went 2-for-4 with four RBIs. A.J. Deason went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Jack Christian struck out four, walked two and gave up five hits in the second game to take the win. Knight and Whitten were 3-for-3 and Boo Seward was 2-for-3.

The Bandits are 31-9 and play the Oklahoma Outlaws at 1 p.m. Saturday at Connors State.
