Destinee Thrash pumped home 25 points as the Connors State Cowgirls snapped a 10-game losing streak en route to a 68-49 Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference basketball victory at Western State Monday night.
Connors is now 4-14 for the year and 2-8 in league play, while the Lady Pioneers fall to 3-11 and are winless in league action at 0-9.
Connors held a nine-point lead at the half, 31-22 and was never contested in the final 20 minutes. The Cowgirls were deadly at the free-throw line draining 14-of-15 at the stripe. Alyssa Jones also scored in double figures with 10 points.
Western State’s scoring was led by Ebony Nelms, who scored 34 points.
Connors returns home Thursday to play Northern Oklahoma-Enid in OCAC play at
Melvin Self Field House. Tip-off is 6 p.m.

Connors State’s five-game winning streak came to an end Monday night, losing to Western State College on the Pioneers’ home floor.
The 24th ranked Cowboys are now 17-3 on the season and fall to 8-2 in Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference play. Western State improves to 15-4 and 6-3.
The Cowboys return home to play Northern Oklahoma-Enid Thursday night at Melvin Self Field House. Tip-off is 8 p.m.
The Pioneers led the entire game as Di’Jon Allen-Jordan led Western to the win with 23 points as they held a 35-26 lead at the half.
Connors’ scoring was led by Devonte Robinson who scored 20 points with Quan Jones adding 15 followed by Corlbe Ervin with 11 and Willie Atwood with 10.
Trailing Allen-Jordan in the scoring for the Pioneers was Stirling Thomas with 15 and Jahmal Lane 10 points.
