COLUMN: Rangeline winners announced, and other items

— The high-point roper and winner of the Dodge Dually at Rangeline Arena this past weekend was Doug Madewell of Checotah. The overall fastest time of the first round was accomplished by the team of Wayne Wilson and Joe Macoubrie. The ropers with the fastest time of the short-go were R.C. Rees and Justin Myers.  The high-point girls team was Michelle Black and Kelli Tully.

First in the average were Derrick Neal and Doug Madewell, in second were Doug Madewell and John Antu, Beau Thompson and Billy Greenwood took third, Kade Lewis and Tom Stamper fourth, Kirt Wingate and Clint Jackson fifth. Norman Flurry and Heath Philpot, Gary Cox and John Antu, Josh Groff and Gary Leach, Christian Dewbre and Klint Gideon, and Brock Davis and Klint Gideon rounded out the top 10.

 For you team ropers, there’s another big roping at Rangeline Arena on Saturday. The All-Girl roping will have $300 added, $500 added to the 13-point, prizes in the 6-point, and $300 added in the 10-point with an 8-incentive. Barton Arena Productions will rope at the Double D Arena in Poteau on Saturday. They will offer $1,000 in added money and prizes. The roping is a #11 and #9 with a #6 Incentive combined, but with separate short rounds. Enter one, draw one for $50 or draw both.  The Hillbilly Ranch and Arena will hold sorting, weather permitting, this Friday evening. This will possibly be the last one for this season.  On Friday evening, Jeffries Productions will run barrels at the Vian indoor arena, exhibitions at 5:30 and jackpot at 8 p.m. Corkie and Linda always put on an excellent jackpot.

 If you need somewhere to go on Saturday rather than shopping, there’s a $1,000 added National Barrel Horse Association jackpot, District OK02, at Promise Acres in Sapulpa. Exhibitions will begin at 11 a.m. and the jackpot at 1 p.m. For more information on the jackpot, go to on the events page. Cindy Woodworth always puts on good jackpot.

 In two weeks, the American Cowboys Rodeo Association will hold their 2012 Finals at the Built Ford Tough Arena at the Tulsa Expo. There will be three daily performances beginning Friday, Dec. 7. The performances on Friday and Saturday are at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday action starts at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults ($12 in advance) or $30 for all sessions.
