European tour:

OU wins again

PARIS — The University of Oklahoma men’s basketball team won its three games in Belgium last week by 20, 18 and 21 points. Wednesday night in France, the Sooners raised the bar in a 109-64 victory over La St. Charles, a local team from Charenton/St. Maurice.

Six players scored in double figures, led by Cameron Clark’s game-high 23 points. The senior guard/forward was 10-for-17 from the field and added seven rebounds.

Junior D.J. Bennett and sophomores Isaiah Cousins and Ryan Spangler each scored 14 points, while sophomore Je’lon Hornbeak and senior Tyler Neal contributed 11 points each.

an All-Academic

SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Northeastern State women’s tennis program was selected as a 2013 ITA All-Academic Team, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).  This marks the sixth-straight year and the seventh time in the past eight years Northeastern State has collected the team academic accolade.

NSU also had five student-athletes named ITA Scholar-Athletes. Those included seniors Houda Bellamine, Martina Bruzikova and Jeanne Mallem, junior Barbora Jirickova, and sophomore Lucia Cerchlanova.

ESPN Game Day


On March 1  ESPN’s College GameDay will broadcast live from Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, it was announced Wednesday. Oklahoma State will face Kansas that evening at 8 p.m. on ESPN.

This will be the second visit to Stillwater by College GameDay for a basketball game. In its inaugural season, ESPN came to Stillwater on March 5, 2005, in conjunction with the launch of ESPNU.
