The Barton Arena Productions’ crew and steers will be at the Checotah Round-Up Club on Sunday and will offer a #10 roping with a #8 incentive, capped at 6E. There will be up to $500 added money to the high money winner. The format will be enter one draw one for $40 or draw both. Entries will be cash only please. There will not be a prize fee. With 75 paid teams they will add $250, with at least 100 paid teams they will add $500. Books open at 1:30 p.m. and close at 2:30 p.m. For more information call or text Bart at (918) 616-9269.
Weather permitting, the Hillbilly Ranch & Arena will try sorting this Friday. Just be sure and call before you haul. Call Gail at (918) 682-2581 or Rick at (918) 684-7026. Gates open at 6 p.m. and sorting starts at 7 p.m.
Through the last rodeo of the semester this month, the Connors State College rodeo men’s team is in eighth place in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s standings. Zane Cook is tied for fourth in the bullriding, Muskogee’s Cameron Ousley is tied for seventh in the steer wrestling, Tyler Bush is in the 10th slot for team roping – header while among heelers, Tator Lux is tied for ninth and Logan Byrd is in 15th. The rodeo team will be back on the road again next semester.
The American Cowboys Rodeo Association will hold its 2012 Finals at the Built Ford Tough Arena at the Tulsa ExpoSquare on Friday-Sunday, Dec. 7-9. Starting time on Friday and Saturday will be at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Tickets will be $14 for adults ($12 in advance) or $30 for all sessions. Seniors and military get a $2 discount. Also scheduled at ExpoSquare on that weekend is the Tulsa Farm Show, also for a three-day run beginning Dec. 6 in the Quik Trip Center. This is always a good show to see just about anything related to farm living. There are always lots of freebies too, not to mention all the people you get to visit with!
The Barrel Futurities of America will welcome the popular RFD-TV show “Women’s Pro Rodeo Today” to the 2012 World Championships at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds Dec. 4-8. Oklahoma City at the fairgrounds. Future Fortunes Stallion Incentive is sponsoring two episodes and will showcase a number of the Future Fortune Stallion enrollees. As the week’s events progress, BFA and Future Fortune champions will be showcased.
It is a given that many top barrel horses usually have futurity competition experience. “Women’s Pro Rodeo Today” is excited to report the stories as these horses begin their careers at the BFA World Championships. Both professional trainers and amateur riders have the opportunity to make their mark on the barrel racing world competing for BFA and Future Fortunes titles, purse money, awards, and bonuses.
