Kickboxing fights at Civic Center

Two main events will be part of a 13-male and five-female fight card for kickboxing at the Muskogee Civic Center at 5:30 p.m. today.

“Fighters will be coming in from Mexico, Canada and all over the United States,” said promoter John West of Muskogee.

The main events inclue Muskogee’s Billy Clark vs. Wayne Pokornik of Winnepeg, Canada for the Striking Junior Middleweight title and Adam Edgerton of Louisville, Ky., face Daniel Miller of Nashville, Tenn., for the United States Muay Thai Association Junior Middleweight title.

Fights will be five two-minute rounds for the title fights and three two-minute rounds for the others.

“Kickboxing is done with standing up and striking. There’s no grappling on the ground like they have in MMA and UFC,” West said.
