BEGGS — Hunter Harrison hit his second home run of the season, but that was all the Hornets would score in falling 4-1 to the Morris Eagles in the Beggs Tournament semifinals Friday.
Harrison also added a triple but the Hornets dropped to 10-6 for the season.
“We didn’t go ready to play,” Hilldale coach Darren Riddle said. “We have a lot of growing up to do.”
Jacob Stinson (1-2) was the losing pitcher. He hurt his hip in the second inning on a pitch, Riddle said.
Morris scored a run each in the first and second innings and two more in the seventh. Three of the Eagles’ runs were unearned.
Weather permitting, Hilldale plays at 2 p.m. today for third place against the Cushing-Beggs loser.
