Take your pick among weekend events

The Coweta Round-up Club’s open rodeo is Friday and Saturday. Performances start at 8  p.m., books close at 7:30 p.m. nightly. They will have the traditional rodeo events along with Ranch Bronc, Junior and Pee Wee barrel racing and Pee Wee bareback riding. This is a Ward Rodeo Stampede Series.  The Tulsa RV Ranch in Beggs has a rodeo at 8 p.m. Saturday.  This is an ACRA, CRRA & CRA approved rodeo, locals accepted. Blisard Rodeo Company will be the stock contractor. Contact (918) 275-4427.

 The annual rodeo in Garvin is this Friday and Saturday. Performances start at 8 p.m. nightly. The stock contractor is Wing Rodeo Company and you can contact them at (903) 846-2421. This is a UPRA, CRRA and ARA approved rodeo.

The Sooner Barrel Racing Association has a barrel race Saturday at the Inola Round-up Club Arena. Exhibitions start at 2 p.m. with the jackpot at 4 p.m. Pee Wees (8-under) entry fee is $10, Youth (15-nder) entry fee is $15 and the Open 4D entry fee $26. The Siloam Springs, Ark. Round-up Club arena will have a benefit team roping for Caydo Mott. Books open at  noon, roping starts at 1 p.m. Each roping is three for $30 ($15 per person). There’s also a silent auction. Contact Paul Hefner at (918) 557-8162 or Scott Merritt at (918) 244-0914.

 Jeffries Productions’ Tuesday night 10-week barrel series offers 25-minute ride sessions at 5 and 5:30 p.m. with barrels set up. Exhibitions are $10  and will start at 6 p.m. - $4 each or three for $10. Jackpot starts at 8 p.m. Entry fee is $25. Contact Linda Jeffries at (918) 329-6776.

Equine Speed Productions continues their six-week barrel series at Coweta on Thursday nights. There were 60 in the Open division and Miranda Ray won it with a 15.910. Jessica White won the 2D, Vicki Beene won the 3D and Tiffany Johnson won the 4D. The Open is a 4D (1/2, 1/2, whole second splits). $30 entry fee.  A $1,000-added money Gayla Milam Tribute Race will be held at the outdoor arena in Poteau on Saturday. Exhibitions are $4 and  start at 6 p.m. A church service will be held at 7:45 p.m. with the Open to start at 8 p.m. Junior, Adult and Senior sidepots are $10.
