SEQUOYAH CAPTURES TITLE – the Sequoyah Lady Indians defeated Oologah by scores of 26-24 and 25-22 to win the Sequoyah Tournament on Saturday. The win kept Sequoyah’s record unblemished at 6-0.
Three Lady Indians made the All-Tournament team. Audrey Ballou was named the tournament MVP with 36 kills, 10 digs and four aces and was joined on the squad by Baylee Herrin, who totaled 15 kills and four blocks, and Britanie Wacoche with eight kills, eight digs and six aces.
Okay went 2-2 on the day, advancing to the semifinals before falling to Sequoyah 25-17 and 25-16. Edyth Ruckman was the lone Lady Mustang to make the All-tournament team, finishing with 18 kills and five aces in the four matches, including 10 straight serves to close out the match against McAlester to put Okay in the semifinals.
