WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Bacone Lady Warriors held a 3-1 halftime lead over Williams Baptist and didn’t let up, winning 8-1 in soccer action Saturday afternoon.
Scoring for the Lady Warriors were Shayla Beene, Mireya Navas, Danielle Brighton, Demi Barai, Kristi Chase and Charlotte Howard. Navas and Barai both scored twice.
Keeper Kyrie Stump played just over a half for Bacone, allowing one goal with one save. Bacone (2-0) will face Saint Gregory’s at home Tuesday.
On the men’s side the Warriors trailed 2-1 at the half before Williams Baptist tacked two more goals to grab the 4-1 victory.
Scoring for Bacone was Tobi Oganla at the 18th minute mark. Greg Cawley was credited with the assist. Erick Medina notched 11 saves for Bacone (0-2), which takes on Saint Gregory’s at home Tuesday.
