WAGONER AT BARTLESVILLE — Wagoner’s Adam Martin was 15th among 76 runners at 19:01 with Jarrett Ellis (19:30) 22nd, Todd Brown (20:17) 31st and Austin Peck (20:41), 38th. Bartlesville was team champion. Wagoner was sixth  in the 10-team field. Krisha Baniqued of Bartlesville was first in 16:54 on the 5,000-meter course.

Bartlesville won the girls 2K division with Wagoner sixth. Wagoner’s Arizona Hummingbird was 19th in 14:13 and Moran Randolph 26th (14:56) among 54 runners.

FORT GIBSON AT HENRYETTA — The Tigers’ Coleman Crawley won the boys individual title. No time was available.

CHECOTAH SPLITS — At the Morris Tournament, the Wildcats, now 17-3, took advantage of multiple errors and walks in beating Porter 9-1, then managed just two hits against Muldrow and lost on a walk-off sacrifice fly, 4-3.

Colby Christian’s two-run single was the big hit against Porter. Taylor Davidson allowed two hits in the five-inning affair, both in the first inning, and struck out five.

Muldrow outhit Checotah 8-2 in the second game. Davidson gave up all eight hits.

COWETA TOURNAMENT — Fort Gibson beat Haskell 3-0 as Madison Higley no-hit the Haymakers to wrap up pool play. Mackenzie Williams was 2-for-3 and Higley struck out 11 in the contest. Both Higley and the Lady Tigers are 14-4.



OKAY TOURNAMENT — Class 4A No. 6 Sequoyah moved to 17-0 in dramatic fashion to win the tournament on Saturday.

MVP Audrey Ballou and all-tournament selection Baylee Herrin led a charge from a game-point  14-9 deficit in the final set against Westville, winning 17-15 to take the match 2-1. Sequoyah won the first set 25-15 and lost the second 16-25.

In the finals, Sequoyah knocked off previously undefeated Oklahoma Christian 25-18, 25-18, 25-20 against previously unbeaten No. 15 Oklahoma Christian.

For the day, Ballou had 30 kills and 8 aces and Herrin 24 kills and 10 blocks.

Okay JV lost to Oklahoma Christian in the other semifinal. Okay’s varsity and Hulbert didn’t make it out of pool play.
