Prep roundup and today's schedule


MUSKOGEE 4, UNION 3 – Jacob Stinson (1-0) entered in the second inning and stoned the Redskins holding them scoreless on one hit in his six innings of work in the Gladys Winters Festival at Enid and also at Stillwater.

Ke’Shawn Ballard went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Harris Jones went 1-for-3 and drove in a run. Muskogee (15-7) plays Yukon at noon  followed by Mustang at 2 p.m. today, both games at Enid.

COAL MINING CLASSIC at HARTSHORNE — Eufaula lost for only the second time this season, falling to Hartshorne 11-0 in the winner’s bracket. Eufaula is now 16-2 going into today’s third-place game against Poteau at 1 p.m.

Tyler Edgar and Oktaha beat McAlester JV 10-2 in the first game behind Edgars’ stellar performance on the mound. Edgar (2-0) pitched a complete game and also knocked in three runs.

The Tigers then squeaked by Heavener 5-3. Austin Crowder (1-0) entered in the second inning and finished the game. Dalton Martin was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs.

Oktaha (12-6) gets Stigler at 11 a.m. today. Stigler had 21 hits combined in defeating Wilburton 16-6 and Antlers 11-1. Austan Drewry was 5-for-7 for the day with 7 RBIs, including a three-run home run in the Antlers game, his third of the season. Track Jackson (3-for-4, four RBIs) and Cameron Highfill (2-for-3) also stood out offensively against Wilburton. Seth Sandlin (3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs) and Wade Henderson (2-for-4) led the assault against Antlers.

Highfille allowed four Wilburton hits in three innings, striking out five to get the win. Henderson gave up three hits in three innings against Antlers. Stigler (10-8) plays Oktaha  at 11 a.m. today.

CENTRAL SALLISAW TOURNAMENT — 3A No. 5 Vian beat Pocola 10-4. A.J. Rodriguez hit a sixth inning three-run homer to put the Wolverines up 9-4. Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs, and three RBIs. Matt McConnell (1-1) threw 5 1/3 innings allowing a single run on three hits. Josh Cowart went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI. Vian (15-3) plays the Spiro in the finals at 5:30 p.m. today.

RIVERSIDE CONFERENCE — Porum beat Braggs 14-1 in the winner’s final. Payton York’s solo blast in the first was all the offense on the night for the Wildcats. No info was available for Porum.

Webbers Falls beat Gans 6-2 and Porter 14-3 and will meet Braggs at noon in the consolation final. Dillon Coleman was a combined 6-for-7 in the two games and Taylor Stevens was 3-for-3 against Gans. The Webbers-Braggs winner will play Porum at 2 p.m. and can force an if-necessary game at 4 p.m. should Porum lose.

WARNER 9, HULBERT 1 – Kayden Hammans was perfect on the day going 3-for-3 and crossing the plate twice for the Eagles. Hunter Morris went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run. Levi Jones (2-3) went five innings giving up one hit and no earned runs while sitting down 10 Rider hitters on strikes. Warner (8-10) goes to Gore at 4 p.m. Monday.

CASCIA HALL 12, FORT GIBSON 2 — The Tigers fell to 8-12 with the road loss.
