CONNORS 2-5, ELLSWORTH (Iowa) 1-2 —  At Warner, Tyler Fourkiller’s two-run single in the sixth inning rallied Connors (7-1) from a 2-1 deficit, leading them to a sweep of Friday’s doubleheader. Yariel Gonzalez’s walk-off single, a two-run bases-loaded shot down the right field line, gave the Cowboys a 2-1 win in the opener.

Dalton Daniels had four hits on the day while Korey Keith and Gonzalez had two hits in the opener and Fourkiller and Victor Claudio joined Daniels in registering two hits in the second game.

Wagoner grad Justin Ferrell (1-0) worked two hitless relief innings, striking out four, to win the first game while Inola’s Josh Hammill struck out 12 in six innings of four-hit ball allowing two runs in the nightcap with Zane Duggan earning a save.

The two teams play again in a noon doubleheader today.

OSU 4, UC-DAVIS 2 – Oklahoma State erased a two-run deficit en route to four unanswered runs as the Cowboys ran their winning streak to six games with a victory over UC-Davis on Friday.

Vince Wheeland tossed three shutout innings in relief for his second win as OSU improved to 8-1 on the season.

OU 10, PEPPERDINE 7 – Thanks to a seven-run third inning, University of Oklahoma baseball team improved to 10-0 on the season with a win over Pepperdine Friday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

Junior southpaw starting pitcher Dillon Overton tallied a season-high 10 strikeouts in just six innings of work. The left-hander improved to 4-0. Redshirt sophomore righty Robert Tasin earned his third save of the season.

Freshmen Anthony Hermelyn, Kolbey Carpenter and Hunter Haley each drove in two runs with Haley hitting his first collegiate home run.

GONZAGA 3, ARKANSAS 0 – Gonzaga starting pitcher Marco Gonzales scattered eight hits in a complete game shutout as the Bulldogs defeated Arkansas on Friday.

Arkansas starter Barrett Astin (1-1) took the loss, allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits and struck out two in 5.1 innings

NSU SPLITS IN WICHITA FALLS – The Northeaster State softball team finished 1-1 after the first day in the Courtyard by Marriott Invitational, dropping a 4-3 decision to St. Mary’s (Texas) before defeating Panhandle State 10-1.

Sequoyah grad Saharra Henson scored a run in each game and drove in two runs in the win over OPSU. Cayce Coleman go tthe win in the circle in the second game while Kayce Wooldridge took the loss in game one.

OU 6, HOUSTON 0 – Keilani Ricketts struck out 14 and extended her scoreless streak to 30.1 innings as Oklahoma topped Houston in the Sooners' home opener.

Casey George and Ricketts went 2-for-3 at the plate with one run scored while Tahlequah ex Erica Sampson scored two runs.

ARKANSAS SWEEPS DAY ONE – The University of Arkansas softball team swept its snowy first day in the Woo Pig Classic in Fayetteville, Ark., defeating Wright State 11-3 and Northern Iowa 8-0.

Jayme McGee led the way for the Razorbacks with three hits in game one while Jennifer Rambo and Devon Wallace had two hits in the opener and Clarisa Navarro had two hits in game two.

TULSA WINS TWICE IN TEXAS – The Tulsa softball team opened the UT Arlington Classic with a pair of wins on Friday, defeating Texas-Arlington 5-1 and Lamar 7-4. Five different players drove in runs for the Golden Hurricane (13-4) against UT Arlington, including Jill Barrett, who was 3-for-4 with a home run. Haskell ex Jodi Edmison was 2-for-3 with three RBI in the win over Lamar.
