Muskogee slipped past Moore and tied with Southmoore for 10th in the 12-team state field, capping their first state tourney as a team since 1998.
The Roughers shot a 343 and finished at 1,021 on the par-72 Karsten Creek Golf Course at Stillwater. After back-to-back rounds of 78 on Monday, Harris Jones shot a 12-over 84 and finished at 240, low man for the Roughers. Spencer Smythe had Tuesday’s low-round teamwise with an 83 and ended at 249 for the tournament after an 87 and 79 on Monday. Rounding up Muskogee’s scores, Connor Scott’s 94 gave him a 266, Austin Jones shot 85 for 276 and Tanner Felts 91 for 280.
Edmond North shot 884 (308-282-293) for a comfortable 27-shot advantage over runner-up Jenks at 911 (305-304-302).Edmond had three of the top four team scores with Santa Fe (918) and Memorial (926) third and fourth, and two of the top three medalists. Max McGreevy of Edmond North shot a 2-under 214 and won in a two-hole playoff with Nick Heinen of Edmond North and Thomas Johnson of Norman North. McGreevy shot 1-over 73 on Tuesday, Heinen a 72 and Johnson made up two strokes with a 71.
Tahlequah’s Jake Johnson shot a final-round score of 77 and finished the Class 5A state tournament in a tie for third at Tulsa Country Club on Tuesday.
Johnson tied with Bishop Kelley’s Will Murphy for third place.
Johnson’s seven-over-par round came after a 71 and a 75 on his first day of the tournament on Monday.
Bishop Kelley’s Chris Karlovich won medalist honors with a 219. As a team, Tahlequah tied for fourth with Bishop McGuinness. Both clubs ended up with a 962 after 54 holes.
In the Class 3A tournament at Duncan Country Club, Stigler tied for eighth with a 334 total for the third round and 1,035 total, same as Sulphur. Eufaula shot 361 to finish 10th (1,057) and Keys was 12th of 12 (381, 1,141). Plainview (302, 896) was champion by 29 strokes over Oklahoma Christian, followed by Pauls Valley in third.
Stigler’s Levi Moss had his team’s low third round with an 81 and finished at 256, three strokes behind his teammate Cameron Buckner (85-253). Tyus Mitchell (91, 266), Lee Stanfield (84, 267) and Gibson McAlvain (84, 284) rounded out the Panthers’ scores.
Eufaula’s top golfer was Luke Vancleave (84, 242), followed by Chris Johnson (90-260), Calahan Henry (95, 277), Mason Dobbs (92, 278) and Ethan White 99, 303).
Shea Heble shot a 78 and finished at 245 to lead Keys, followed by Kris Beres (285), Zach Rogers (299), Larry Caviness (312) and Alex Thompson (323).
Rejoice Christian shot 929 for a 28-shot victory over runner-up Lincoln Christian at Emerald Falls Golf Club in Broken Arrow. Mason Overstreet of Laverne (72 on Tuesday, 210, 6-under overall) won medalist honors by eight strokes over Brandon Strathe of Lincoln Christian. No area golfers competed in the 2A tourney.
