Phoenix staff report

— Connors State placed three men and one woman on the Region II All-Region basketball teams announced on Sunday.

For the Cowboys, Josh Cameron was placed on the All-Region first team while Hakeem Harris and Dennell Henderson made the second team.

The Cowgirls’ Tonisha Dean was the only Connors woman to earn postseason honors as she was selected to the Region II second team.

The Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference also revealed its men’s and women’s all-conference teams and the same quartet received OCAC honors.

As with the Region II squads, Cameron was placed on the OCAC first team with Harris and Henderson earning second-team honors. The same could be said for Dean as she earned a spot on the league’s second team.

The Cowgirls are in action at 7 p.m. today at Melvin Self Field House in Warner as they host Arkansas Baptist in a Region 2 play-in game. The winner advances to play Northeastern A&M in Shawnee at 3 p.m. Thursday.

The Cowboys received a first-round bye and will face the winner of Carl Albert and Seminole in Shawnee at 8 p.m. Thursday.
