2014 slate is out
NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma has released its 2014 nonconference schedule that includes hosting Tennessee.
The Sooners and Volunteers will play in Norman on Sept. 13. OU will return the trip by playing Tennessee in Knoxville in 2015.
Other nonconference games will be Aug. 30 at home against Louisiana Tech and Sept. 20 at Tulsa.
OU and Tennessee have played twice previously — both times in the Orange Bowl.
Tennessee defeated Oklahoma 17-0 in the 1939 Orange Bowl while OU won 26-24 in the 1968 Orange Bowl.
extended to 2020
NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma Board of Regents made Bob Stoops’ contract extension official Wednesday, ratifying the new deal that OU originally announced July 25.
It is a longevity extension only. Stoops is now under contract through Dec. 31, 2020, a two-year extension from the previous agreement.
Financial terms were not changed from the old contract. Stoops’ salary scale remains as it was. He will receive $4.55 million this year and $4.95 million the next two.
In 2016, Stoops is due a bump to $5.15 million. He will maintain that annual salary through the 2020 season, or the duration of the extended contract.
Stoops, who turned 53 years old Sept. 9, is 152-37 three games into his 15th season at OU.
to do Tulsa twice
Bedlam Baseball will make two stops at Tulsa’s ONEOK Field next spring.
Oklahoma State and Oklahoma will meet Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17 in Tulsa. The three-game series will open on May 15 in Oklahoma City’s Bricktown Ballpark.
In previous seasons, two games have been played in Oklahoma City and one game in Tulsa.
