OKTAHA 5-14, STUART 1-9 – Daceauda Davis took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of game one, giving up the only hit he surrendered with no outs, as the Tigers swept Stuart.

Davis finished the game with eight strikeouts as his record improved to 3-5. Tristan Yarbrough was 2-for-2 with a run batted in for Oktaha (9-12) while Dalton Martin had a two-run home run, his second of the season.

Game two saw Zack Evans (1-0) get the win, tossing five innings with three strikeouts, for his first victory of the season. Evans was also 2-for-5 with two RBIs while Martin had two RBIs and Bradley McCoy had an RBI.

The Tigers return to action at 6 p.m. Monday at Red Oak.

Fastpitch

SEQUOYAH TOURNAMENT – In a battle of No. 1-ranked teams, Class 3A Sequoyah fell to Class B Red Oak 6-4 in the title game of the Sequoyah Tournament 6-4 to complete a 1-1 afternoon.

Kati Phillips (25-6) took the decision in both games. Baylee Ratliff was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a home run while Syndie Smith was 2-for-2.

Earlier, the Lady Indians (25-6) took on 4A No. 10 Checotah and run-ruled the Lady Wildcats 20-2. Ratliff, Smith and Kelsey Leach were all 4-for-4 for Sequoyah with Smith hit a home run, scored thrice and drove in three runs while Leach scored four times and drove in two while Ratliff drove in two and score twice.

Checotah finished tournament action on Saturday by taking two of three games, beating Wilburton 8-0 and Jay 1-0 sandwiched around the loss to Sequoyah.

Taylor Davidson got the decision inn all three outings and saw her record climb to 24-6. In the first game, Kori Mack was 3-for-4 with a run batted in while Emily Davidson had two RBIs.

Against Sequoyah, Carmack and Caitlyn Walter scored the only runs. Versus Jay, Colby Christian on a double and eventually came home on a sacrifice fly by Carmack.

Class 3A No. 4 Oktaha (21-7) won its first two games on Saturday, beating Stilwell 11-2 and Verdigris 2-1 before falling to Muldrow 11-2. No stats were available as of press time.

Hulbert went 0-2 to drop to 6-14 on the year, losing to Oktaha’s JV squad 4-2 and dropping a 12-7 decision to Keys. Katlyn Sewell absorbed the loss in both games

Jessica Rhodes was 2-for-3 against Oktaha while Krista Bowlin and Paige Taylor scored the only runs. Ashtin Barnoskie was 2-for-3 while Tina Buford had three runs scored and Lauren Reagan scored twice.
