PREVIEW: Hilldale at Lincoln Christian

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. tonight

Records: Lincoln Christian 3-2, 1-0; Hilldale 4-1, 1-0 3A-7.

Last week: Lincoln Christian 38, Jay 21; Hilldale 69, Inola 7.

Last meeting: Hilldale 48, Lincoln Christian 6 (2012).

About the matchup: The Hornets hope to run like they did in this contest last season where graduated running back Jamaul Cullom topped 200 yards. Hildale’s offense, sparked by reserve running back Hunter Woods’ three consecutive 100-plus yard games, gets Seth Reheard back this week. Reheard started the first two games before suffering a high ankle sprain. Woods will start. Hilldale has outscored opponents 42-19 and has 419 yards per game, including the lethal pass combo of Chandler Puckett and Bradley Campbell, among other receivers. Top challenge for the Hilldale defense: stop Justin Flewellen. When the 5-foot-11, 181-pound senior has been on, he’s been on. He had 205 yards rushing against Jay last week and also had 421 yards against Christian Heritage on 34 carries and 79 on four carries against Seaworth Academy. Seminole (64 on 22) and Holland Hall (77 on 17) were less successful outings. The win would get Hilldale halfway through the lone pair of unbeaten foes in 3A-7 with a trip to No. 10 Locust Grove (5-0, 2-0) and former Muskogee head coach Matt Hennesy next week.

Series record: Hilldale leads, 1-0.

Notes:  Last week’s 69-points against Inola was a record for Hilldale.
