Race track part of area’s relief effort

Outlaw Motorsports Park and Applebee’s are teaming up with other businesses to collect clothes and bedding for victims of the Oklahoma City area tornadoes.

Donations may be brought to Outlaw Motorsports Park at the Wainwright exit off U.S. 69, to Applebee’s, 415 W. Shawnee Bypass or to Laferry’s Propane, 3130 North 32nd Street from 8 a.m. -5 p.m. or York Street Tires, 2001 North York Street from 7:30-5:30 p.m. Additionally, Outlaw Motorsports Park will donate all general admission proceeds from Saturday’s races to the relief efforts.

Outlaw will host the Oil Capital Racing Series springs next week. Two OCRS drivers, Steve and White Gastineau of Moore and Dan Schnackenberg of Shawnee, both lost homes in those respective storms. Gastineau also lost his race shop, according to John Lemon, OCRS public relations director.

Cash donations for either may be made to the Gastineau Recovery Fund or the Schnackenberg Recovery Fund, both at Triad Bank, 7666 East 61st Street, Suite 150, Tulsa 74133.
