Muskogee grabs consolation titles

Playing in No. 1 doubles, Muskogee’s Terra Patrick took the consolation championship at the girls half of the Muskogee High Invitational tennis tournament on Wednesday.

Muskogee’s also got a consolation championship from Brianna Griffin and Timberleigh McGee in No. 2 doubles. Enid and Broken Arrow tied for first place and Union was third teamwise.

Muskogee’s Jensen Martin took seventh place overall in No. 2 singles. In doubles play, Laura Jardine and Abby Wayman finished eighth in No. 1 doubles and Claire Farmer and Alexis Rosson came in fourth.

Griffin and McGee played with Muskogee’s second team where in No. 2 singles, Emily Falleur was 10th and in No. 1 doubles, Allie Jiles and Avery Rice finished 11th.

“It was a good tournament against the top teams in the state,” MHS coach Clay Blevins said. “I’m impressed how our kids competed and our second-team two doubles winning the consolation championship.”

The boys portion was in March.
