Baseball

MORRIS 7, OKTAHA 2 —
A three-run error on a force play doomed Oktaha and losing pitcher Jordan Webb (1-1), who surrendered four unearned runs on two hits in a first-day game in the Preston Festival. Webb tried to help his cause with a solo home run, his second of the year. Deceauda Davis had a two-out single to score another run in the first. Oktaha plays Tecumseh in the festival today at 4.

WAGONER 7, OOLOGAH 2 — Wyatt Probst was 3-for-4 with three doubles and drove in four of the Bulldogs’ runs. Dylan Cantrell, Skyler Davis and Chancy Scott each drove in runs for winning pitcher Bradley Green, who gave up two runs and struck out three in five innings. Wagoner (6-2) is off until Thursday when it plays Coweta at noon in the Catoosa Tournament.

HULBERT-VIAN — canceled.

Softball

BROKEN ARROW 7, MUSKOGEE 3 —
The Lady Roughers (4-2) scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to cut Broken Arrow’s lead to 7-3, but they couldn’t get any closer. Morgan Taylor (4-2) was the losing pitcher.

Nia Maxwell drove in two runs in the inning and Dee Emarthle had the other RBI. Both had two hits for the game along with Jessie Venable.

Broken Arrow scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Of the Lady Tigers’ six hits in the inning, two were doubles.

Muskogee has a busy day today, playing Class A No. 2 Leedy at 11:50 a.m. and 4A No. 2 Dale at 1 p.m. at the Okemah Festival. The Lady Roughers then come back home to play Vian at 5 p.m.

PORUM 10, GANS 6 — At Gans, the Lady Panthers (5-0) stayed perfect with Carly Anderson going 3-for-3, Johnna Bailey 2-for-4 with three RBI and Shelby Smith also 2-for-4. Porum gets Quinton at home today at 4:30 p.m.

VIAN SWEEPS — Jaden Bolin and Joehanna Morris were both 3-for-4 with three RBIs in a 12-9 win over Sallisaw and the Lady Wolverines moved to 2-0 on the year with a 10-8 win over Heavener. Morris was 3-for-3 and after homering in the opener, had two more in a 3-of-3 game with five RBIs. Vian (2-0) comes to Muskogee today for a 5 p.m. contest.

BRAGGS 7-8 GORE 2-7 — Lauren Burke’s walk-off double broke a 7-all tie and led to a sweep for Braggs (9-1). Burke was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and had one of several Lady Wildcats with four hits on the day. Mady Englebretson and Krissy Perry also had a two-hit game with Perry slapping her second home run of the year, a three-run shot for her second of the day.

Perry had one in the opener as did Makayla Coen, a solo shot for her third this season. Englebretson and Perry again had two hits. Braggs moves to 9-1 and has a makeup doubleheader with Webbers Falls at 3 p.m. today.

 

Soccer

INOLA 4, PORTER (G) 1 —
 Porter (0-3-1) got a goal from Catelyn VanCleave 12 minutes into the second half to make it a 2-1 game. Porter plays Heavener March 26.

FORT GIBSON (B) 1, CATOOSA 0 — Johan Chavez scored the only goal for the Tigers (3-0) with six minutes remaining off an assist by Cole Landers. Daniel Mielnik had four saves in his second shutout. FGHS plays Hilldale at Fort Gibson on Tuesday, March 26.

FORT GIBSON (G) vs. CATOOSA — No score reported.
