TAHLEQUAH  – After a full baptism of MIAA contests last season, Northeastern State’s 2013 football schedule released Tuesday includes one non-conference game.

NSU will play host to Eastern New Mexico on Oct. 19 as the only non-league game in an 11-contest slate. NSU will open at Pittsburg State and will begin the home slate Sept. 14 against Missouri Southern. Homecoming is Oct. 5 against Northwest Missouri State.

The RiverHawks are set to play all 10 opponents from last season, while adding an additional non-conference home game. NSU will play five games on the road and six games inside Doc Wadley Stadium.

 NSU women third in golf

FORT SMITH, Ark. – The Northeastern State women’s golf team finished third after Tuesday’s final round of the UAFS Lions Classic at the par-70, 5,829-yard Hardscrabble Country Club. NSU finished at 642 (330-312), with Newman winning the tournament with a 627 total.

RiverHawk seniors Kelsey Kirkpatrick and Whitney McAteer both finished in the top five. Kirkpatrick tied for second with a 13-over-par 153 (79-74). McAteer stood alone in fourth with a 15-over 155 (78-77).
