— KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The game came down to the final seconds, but in a battle of rivals fifth seed Central Oklahoma pulled out a 61-60 win over ninth seed Northeastern State. UCO got 15 second chance points and shot .800 from the line as they advance to their first MIAA Championship game.
For the Bronchos Josh Gibbs had a double-double scoring 20 points, pulling down 11 rebounds and adding five assists. Aaron Anderson was seven of ten from the field and scored 16 points while adding six rebounds. For the RiverHawks Bryton Hobbs had a game best 28 points, six rebounds and added six assists. Marcus Sheppard was three of five from behind the three-point line finishing with 10 points on the evening.
Central Oklahoma will advance to face either #2 Northwest Missouri or #3 Missouri Southern in the MIAA Championship game on March 9 at 3:30 p.m. from Municipal Auditorium.
