Up two points with four seconds left, Bacone’s Kyna Lewis grabbed the key offensive rebound off a missed free throw to preserve the Lady Warriors’ season-opening victory Thursday night over Northwood.
Lewis went to the charity stripe for two tries but missed both. Northwood’s Ashley Torres would turn the ball over on the ensuing inbounds play to negate any chance for the Knights to tie it.
For the night Bacone shot 29 percent (16 -of-55), three of 16 from three-point range and connected of 15 of 29 free throw attempts.
Jazz’mere Robinson paced the Lady Warriors with 13 points off the bench. Lewis notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.
Bacone will have the week off before facing the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Nov. 26.

WARNER — Connors placed five players in double-figures with Raven Massey leading the offensive scoring attack with 32 points. Massey connected on 13-of-19 from the floor including 3-of-6 from behind the arc in a runaway win at Melvin Self Field House.
Shakayla Love followed with 15 points, with Tonisha Dean and Shakemia Franklin scoring 12 points each and Taira Hall adding 11 points.
The Cowgirls streaked to an early lead 25-6 and cruised to a 57-27 lead at the intermission and was never contested. Bacone’s scoring was led by Adelin Howard who scored 18 points in the loss, followed by Amelia Oliver’s 13.
The Cowgirls (3-2) return to action today at the Coffeyville Classic playing Labette County at 5:30 p.m.
Arkansas 64, Tulsa 56
TULSA — Arkansas’ Kelsey Hatcher’s 3-pointer with 0:13 remaining in regulation forced overtime, where the Lady Razorbacks outscored Tulsa 12-4 for the victory at the Tulsa Convention Center Arena on Thursday night.
Tulsa dropped to 0-3 on the season, while Arkansas improved to 2-0.
Tulsa’s Taleya Mayberry led all scorers with 25 points, while fellow senior Tiffani Couisnard had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Arkansas was led by Keira Peak’s 17 points and 14 rebounds, followed by 14 points by Sarah Watkins and 12 points by Quistelle Williams.
