NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Trial is scheduled to begin Monday for a Norman man accused of stabbing a woman to death at a motel where they both worked.
Juan Antonio Yanez-Escobedo is charged with first-degree murder in the Aug. 28 death of 27-year-old Sophia Santos-Montelongo.
According to court documents, Yanez-Escobedo told police he blacked out after snorting cocaine and woke up kneeling on the ground and touching Santos-Montelongo. Santos-Montelongo died at a hospital from multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.
The 35-year-old Yanez-Escobedo is represented by Norman attorney Charles Douglas.
