Boren proposes $1.48B OU budget, no tuition hike

— OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — University of Oklahoma President David Boren has proposed a $1.48 billion operating budget for OU for the upcoming fiscal year.

Boren kept a pledge he made in January by not proposing propose any tuition increase. OU regents are at their annual retreat in Ardmore this week and will vote on Boren's proposals on Wednesday.

If the regents approve the proposals the average annual amount an in-state undergraduate student taking 30 credit hours over two semesters would pay in tuition and mandatory fees would be $6,493. For out-of-state students that amount would be $16,474.

Of the budget, $772 million would go to OU's main campus in Norman, with $716 million for the Health Sciences Center campus in Oklahoma City. OU also operates a Tulsa campus.
