Published June 25, 2009 11:39 am - No college tuition hikes sought in Oklahoma OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — There are no requests for tuition increases at any college or university in Oklahoma for the first time since 2001. Two community colleges are asking to raise mandatory fees. State regents are meeting Thursday in Oklahoma City to set tuition and fees. Most campus officials had already announced they would not ask to raise tuition to help students and families during the current recession. Connors State College in Warner will increase several fees by $110 a year for a student taking 30 credit hours. Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami will increase its student facility fee by $6.50 per credit hour. State regents have already approved a $1.124 billion budget for the fiscal year starting July 1 — an increase of about 2.8 percent because of federal economic stimulus funds.
