NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — A teenager accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend's father has pleaded not guilty to a first-degree murder count.

An attorney for 18-year-old Matthew Gene Fox entered the plea Thursday afternoon in Cleveland County District Court.

Prosecutors allege Fox and Brittany Herrera stabbed Leroy Herrera on Jan. 24 at the family's home in far southeast Oklahoma City. A medical examiner's report showed the 41-year-old Herrera was stabbed two times in the neck.

The teens were arrested in Fort Worth, Texas, nearly a week after Herrera was killed.

Sixteen-year-old Brittany Herrera also has been charged with first-degree murder and entered a plea of not guilty on Wednesday.

Both are in custody on $500,000 bond.

District Judge William Hetherington set a Dec. 7 trial date for Fox.
