Boy, 3, found dead in Grand River

TULSA (AP) — Authorities have recovered the body of a 3-year-old boy in the Grand River about a mile downstream from his grandparents’ home.

Grand River Dam Authority communications director Justin Alberty says the boy disappeared Friday from the grandparents’ home, which  backs into the river. His T-shirt and shoes were found on the riverbank.

The Tulsa World reported that an agency official said the boy’s body was found about 7 p.m. Saturday about a mile downriver from his grandparents’ home near Langley.

The newspaper said the water in the stretch of river that was searched is about 10 to 20 feet deep.
