TULSA (AP) — An off-dury Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper shot and killed a man outside a Tulsa motel, the patrol said Sunday.

OHP Lt. George Brown said the trooper, whose name has not been released, saw two men outside the motel just after 1 a.m. Sunday.

The Tulsa World reported that the trooper said one of the men had a handgun. Brown said the trooper identified himself as a patrol officer, displayed his gun and ordered the men to stop.
