GARDEN OF LIGHTS, dusk until 11 p.m., through New Year’s Day, Honor Heights Park.

BINGO NIGHT, American Legion Post 15, 5:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 7 p.m. main session on Thursdays.

CHRISTIAN COFFEEHOUSE, 8 to 11 p.m. Fridays, Ark of Faith, 401 E. Broadway. Refreshments and fellowship with a set time for audience participation. Audience participation includes sharing a song, poem, dance or skit.

FREE SOUP KITCHEN, open from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Seventh-day Adventist, 170 N. Country Club Road. Donations welcome. Information: (918) 682-5602

MUSKOGEE PATRIOT TOWNHALL MEETINGS, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month, Muskogee Public Library. This is a citizen education opportunity to hear experts share their knowledge and experience in preparation for upcoming elections 2014, 2016. Information (918) 577-6352.

VETERANS JOB CLUB, fourth Wednesday of each month, 10 a.m., Muskogee Workforce Office.

HISTORY AND LIGHTS TOUR, 5 p.m. Dec. 21. Enjoy a tour through Muskogee’s historic neighborhoods followed by a drive through the Garden of Lights at Honor Heights Park. The trolley ride begins at the Muskogee Civic Center downtown and will drive past many of the grand and gracious homes that add to Muskogee’s beauty and history. Cost: $10 per person. Children under 12 can ride for free with a paid adult. Reservations required. Information: (918) 682-0312.

CHRISTMAS ALIVE, 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 20, 21 and 22, First Church of the Nazarene, 2700 E. Peak Blvd. The event is free, but it will be outdoors so dress warmly. Information: (918) 682-2592.

PAWS AND CLAUS, pet photos with Santa Claus, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 21, PETCO in Muskogee.

SOUL FOOD COOKOFF, Jan. 18, Muskogee Civic Center. Get out the pots and pans and get ready to compete for that “Golden Spatula” and prize money! There are five categories to enter. Information: C. Gaines, (918) 684-6363.

HISTORICAL BLACK TOWNS TOUR, Feb. 19. Tour will travel to Taft, Rentiesville, Clearview and Boley. 150 seats available. Tour includes History on the Bus, snacks, breakfast and dinner. Seats will be issues on a first come, first serve basis and are non-refundable. Cost: $75. Information, (918) 684-6363.

DAFFODIL DAY AND TEA, March 29, Thomas-Foreman Historic Home. Cost: $5, which includes tea and home tour. The Muskogee Garden Club has planted 1500 daffodils in the Thomas-Foreman Historic Home gardens. For $10 you can start your tour at Three Rivers Museum, 220 Elgin St., and take a trolly from there to the Thomas-Foreman Home to enjoy a plant sale, spring daffodils and a tea provided by Muskogee Garden Club members.
