— “A CHRISTMAS STORY,” Nov. 30-Dec. 8, Muskogee Little Theatre, Cincinnati and D streets. Humorist Jean Shepherd’s memoir of growing up in the Midwest of the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. “A LITTLE MURDER NEVER HURT ANYBODY” AUDITIONS, 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 3-4, St. Basil Episcopal Church, 814 N. Vinita, Tahlequah. The cast consists of four men and two women. Also needed are tech people and backstage help. The plot revolves around Matthew Perry’s New Year’s Eve resolution to kill his wife, Julia, so he can have some real fun. Julia’s New Year’s Eve resolution is to stay alive. While Julia cleverly dodges Matthew’s murder attempts, the Perry friends and staff are dying off mysteriously. Matthew confesses to the murders, although he really didn’t kill anyone. Which leaves the question, if he didn’t do it, who did? Information: (918) 457-8612.

“THE NUTCRACKER” Dec. 8-23, Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Expect a more traditional story line complete with new children dances, the traditional opening of the presents under the Christmas tree and, in Act Two, a traditional yet revisited and re-choreographed appearance by famed Mother Ginger!
