THINGS TO DO — Benefits 03.08.13

— ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT BEAN DINNER, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 8, Bedouin Shrine Temple. The cost is $5, and proceeds will benefit scholarships for area high school seniors from Muskogee High School, Hilldale High School and Fort Gibson High School. The event, which will feature door prizes and entertainment by the Gassettes, is co-sponsored by the Muskogee Masonic Lodge #28.

BEAN SUPPER, 5 to 8 p.m. March 8, Odd Fellows Lodge, 1 1/4 miles south of Wagoner on Oklahoma 16. Beans, slaw, cornbread, fried potatoes, dessert and coffee or tea. Cost: $4 for adults, children 10 and under $3. Information: (918) 485-3822.

BENEFIT CONCERT FOR STEPHANIE RAINS, 7 p.m. March 8, Roxy Theater, 220 W. Okmulgee Ave. Rains is battling throat cancer. Donations will be accepted at the door. Featured musical artists include Faultline, 10 Cent Pistol, Signs of Warning, Rivers Edge, Dylan Whitney, Mariah Loftin, Joe Campbell, Jermaine Mondaine and many others.

INDIAN TACO SALE, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 8, Muskogee Creek Community Center, 335 N. 4th St. The menu: Indian tacos with the works, drinks. Cost: $6. All proceeds will go toward travel expenses for Mike and Gus Smith (Sequoyah High School) to attend a medical mission trip in the Ukraine.

HOT DOGS FOR A CAUSE, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 15, BancFirst, corner of York and Shawnee streets. Event is a benefit fundraiser for the American Red Cross. Get two hot dogs, chips and a drink for $5. Information and pre-orders, (918) 683-5551.

YARD SALE, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16, First Indian Baptist Church, 510 S. Ninth St. Fundraiser to send memeber to attend Indian Falls Creek, a weeklong Bible study camp.

FISH FRY AND BAKE SALE, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 23, Porum Landing Fire Station on Texanna Road. Proceeds benefit the voluneer fire department and auxiliary.

FFOP GOLF TOURNAMENT, April 18-20, two-man scramble, four-man teams, three golf courses. April 18, The Woods in Coweta; April 19, Eaglecrest in Muskogee; and April 20, Cobblestone in Muskogee. Cost: $100 per person

QUICHE AND SALAD LUNCHEON, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 25, St. Joseph Church Parish Hall, 301 N. Virginia St. The menu: A variety of salads, quiche, and a drink. Homemade baked good will be available for purchase. Cost: $7. All proceeds benefit the church sacristy and the needs of the parish. ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT DAV BENEFIT BREAKFAST, 7 to 10 a.m., third Saturday of the month, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 7, 4815 W. Okmulgee Ave. Cost: $5, adults; $2, children under 12. Menu: Eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, coffee, milk and juice. Proceeds directly support local Disabled American Veterans and their families.
