A 51-year-old Arkansas man walking on U.S. 64, one mile east of Roland, was critically injured at 12:03 a.m. today when hit by a vehicle.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Wayne H. Thompson, 51, of Booneville, Ark., was transported by Pafford EMS to Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark., with arm, leg, trunk internal and head injuries.

The OHP report said Thompson was hit by a 1998 Geo driven by Barbara Farr, 32, of Lavaca, Ark., who was not injured.

Thompson was walking westbound in the eastbound lane on U.S. 64 when he was struck by the Geo, which was being driven eastbound, the OHP said.
