A Haskell man wanted in an attempted shooting in Muskogee was arrested more than two years after charges were filed.
Cody Lee Burris, 23, was arrested Thursday and is being held at the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility on $500,000 bond. Burris is charged with two counts of shooting with intent to kill and one count of use of vehicle in discharge of a weapon.
Court documents state Burris shot at Shatara Johnson and Ebonee Buchanan on May 24, 2009, from his vehicle while Johnson and Buchanan were in their vehicle.
If found guilty of shooting with intent to kill, Burris could be sent to prison for life. The use of a vehicle in discharge of a weapon count is punishable by two years to life in prison.
Burris is scheduled for a sounding docket at 9:30 a.m. April 19. At that time, a date will be set for testimony.
