MULDROW — A local woman died Tuesday from injuries sustained when she was tossed from her car on a county road five miles north of town in Sequoyah County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Ronda Jean Adams, 42, of Muldrow was transported to Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark., where she died from head and internal trunk injuries.

The OHP report states Adams was traveling north on a county road about 11:27 p.m. Monday, when her 2001 Chevrolet Tracker veered off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and rolled once.

Adams was ejected from the vehicle about 126 feet north of the point of impact. Seat belts were not in use, and the air bag did deploy.
