Mike Field was recently named Employee of the Quarter for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s eight-county Division One, a media release states.
Field, who joined the agency one year ago, is a Construction/Maintenance Technician II at the division headquarters in Muskogee. He was nominated for the award anonymously by one of his co-workers.
Field is an experienced electrical worker with many other talents and a strong interest in learning new skills in other areas. While working on a broken water heater at the Division One headquarters recently, his extensive research into the issue resulted in a significant cost savings to the agency.
“Mike has taken the time to learn the Agile Assets system and strives to do the best job with making each entry accurate. He has worked on many issues that needed extra attention and done so in a cost-efficient manner,” the anonymous coworker said. “He is very knowledgeable about his work and takes pride in each job he is assigned.”
In addition to his technical expertise, Field is known by his colleagues for his positive attitude and professionalism.
“Mike walks in every morning with a smile on his face. He is always upbeat and has a great attitude,” Field’s co-worker said. “I have heard several compliments from many of the vendors that he works with about his professionalism and communication.”
Field and his wife of 36 years, Mary Lou, live in Porter. They have two daughters, Amy and Robin, and three grandsons. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoys attending church and riding his motorcycle.
