A driver runs into a gas meter near her home at 3416 River Bend Road. Assistant Muskogee Fire Chief Nick Clark said the accident was reported at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Muskogee Police Officer Lincoln Anderson said Carol Thompson, who lives there, had pulled into her steep driveway and struck the gas meter, which had a 1 1/4-inch line. Anderson said Thompson, 73, reported that her foot got stuck on the pedal. Clark said workers with Oklahoma Natural Gas plugged the gas line, and no other homes or buildings were affected.
