Whittier Elementary Character Club, sponsored by Muskogee Regional Medical Center, has designated Oct. 23-31 as Red Ribbon Week, when students will learn about the effects of drugs and alcohol.

The Kick-off Assembly is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the school, 1705 Cincinnati St.

Everyone is invited to be a part of this event that is designed to teach children that drugs are a dead end and equip them with the ability to stay on a road that leads to a successful life. This event is free and open to the public.
