Fort Gibson center Brooke Palmer wound up as the area’s lone selection on the Oklahoma Coaches Association’s All-State girls basketball teams released Thursday.
The 5-foot-10 senior who led Fort Gibson to a state championship was runner-up in the All-Phoenix voting and averaged 18 points and 7 rebounds after averaging a double-double in three state tournament games. Kelsey McClure, the MVP of that team, was one of three Lady Roughers among the All-Region honorees, joined by Alexus Wilson and Mari Jackson. McClure, a 5-8 guard, averaged 21.5 points. The 5-8 Wilson averaged 12.6 points and Jackson, a 5-10 forward, averaged 9.7 points and 8.1 rebounds.
Palmer’s teammate, guard Taylor London (5-5, 5.0 points per game), made All-Region as well among large schools. Hulbert guard Allison Arnall (5-7, 8.3 points), Eufaula guard Alyssa Banks (5-6, 8.3), Oktaha forward Lanessa Grayson (5-8, 12.8), Sequoyah guard Courtney Jones (5-6, 12.3) and Haskell forward Sherrell McHenry.(5-8, 15.4) joined them.
OCA honors are restricted to seniors.
