A mobile state/federal Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) is opening a new location to help survivors of the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding that occurred from May 7 to June 9 in Oklahoma.

The state/federal Mobile DRC that is opening allows state and local officials to reach as many affected areas and survivors as possible. The center offers in-person support to Oklahoma homeowners, renters and business owners who sustained damage or losses during the storms and flooding.

Recovery specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management will be at the centers to talk about assistance and to help anyone who needs guidance in filing an application.

The mobile DRC will open at 10 a.m. Saturday in Cherokee County at Peggs Middle School, 10821 W. Hickory Ave., in Peggs. The mobile DRC hours are  8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday; closed Sunday. It will close July 24.

Survivors who would like information on low-interest disaster loans from the SBA, can visit a mobile DRC or visit the SBA location at Muskogee County Services Building (lower level), 400 W. Broadway, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
