Elizabeth Hammons and Erin Crotty, students from the Culinary Arts program at Indian Capital Technology Center’s Muskogee campus recently competed in Anaheim, California. The competition took place at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference. Hammons and Crotty competed in "Food Innovations" with their Southern Chicken Salad and received a gold medal.
The conference brings together students from all over the nation including all 50 states and Puerto Rico. The conference participants network with students, attend seminars and state and national meetings. They set a record this year with over 8,700 people attending the conference including students, advisers, and chaperones. They were accompanied by their instructor and adviser Chef Jeff Howard.
